Having not had an area to do laundry in LA, there were always clothes drying by the kitchen, which drove me mad! Especially now we’re about to have a second child, I’m under no illusion that the mess is going to double! First on my list was practicality, but secondly, I wanted the laundry room to still feel stylish and interesting. We luckily inherited a pair of cane cupboards with built-in shelving and heating racks, which are brilliant for soggy hand-washing. We painted them in Deep Reddish Brown No.W101 by Farrow & Ball. Sony has announced the FX3, the latest member of the Cinema Line of cameras that is also the smallest and most compact of the group. Last month, we spotlighted Ferren Gipson’s Ikea hack kitchen that she designed herself. The existing kitchen had been encumbered by a washer/dryer and giant boiler that needed to be moved elsewhere—which is what led Ferren to overhaul the family bathroom first. An American art historian in London, Ferren finds visual inspiration all over—for the bath, she looked to Victorian public restrooms for ideas and started sketching plans.
